Still need to get the tires and an alignment though it seems to be alright (doesn't pull).

hahah that looks hilarious. It will probably look pretty good once you get bigger tires and start driving around in the mud.

I know it's not for everyone but it suits my purposes better.

I thought about going to some 15" rims but for now I'm sticking with the 16" rims and going with some General Grabbers 215/65-16
Should be about an inch difference in radius and fill in the gaps pretty well as well as give it another inch of lift.
I think I will need to get the forester trailing arms (if that is what they are called) to move the rear tires back a little to center them in the wheel well but everything should work as is even with the bigger tire.

In the future I *might* go with a nice 15" rally type rim but not sure since they are pretty costly but most likely a 15" stock Subaru wheel to get some more sidewall.

No not by cherry blossom. They live over by Memorial hs, Go bulldogs.
Anyways, I am looking at springs too for the subaru. How hard was the install? I am wanting the RCE yellow lowering springs though. I don't want it jacked up.

yeah we are in the same mile section as memorial.
Hardest part of the install was undoing the stupid strut bolts. I had a 1.5 ft breaker bar with a wrench on the end for extra leverage and had my wife hit the bar with a 2.5lb sledge for it to finally let go on one of them. Most of them came off with the breaker bar.
I replaced the entire assembly so it was easy, 3 nuts up top and 2 bolts below plus removing the wheels and a couple lines that attach to the struts. Oh and removing the rear seat for the rears.

yes. Most likely you will want to compress them to take them off as well so that you don't have a projectile tophat.

Nothing to be scared about. Just set a weekend you want to do it and I'm sure a few people would be willing to help. It really easy.

Coilovers are a pain in the ass to get set up. Springs are way easier.

Ok, the yellows aren't out yet but I talked to Myles at RCE and he's gonna send me one of the first sets when they're released. Hopefully, in the next month or so I will have them. RCE ftw.

It'll look better with new tires but won't be getting wheels for a while.
I'm going to try and run with the spat unless it needs to be moved. Currently there's almost 2 inches of clearance and the radius will only increase by 1.1 in so I should be alright clearance wise.

Stock springs really don't need a compressor.

nope they don't. Likewise you don't need one to put in shorter springs either. On the other hand you would probably need one if putting in taller springs.

stock STI front springs shoot a pretty good ways, they're tall though. still nothing to get worked up about!

the aftermarket ones are nice because usually you don't even need a compressor to install them

When Vincent and I lowered his old Civic Si we had 3 of us holding the spring/shock assembly while another loosened the nut to take the assembly apart.

After the nut came off and the shock shot 30 feet across his garage floor and out into his driveway we figured out we weren't holding on in all the right place. It was funny.

I like that silver one, but I also think people go too far with the tires. If it had just about a 10-15% shorter tire, with aggressive thread, I couldn't keep the mess out of my pants.
